Page is a major feature for community social websites. It is developed with the purpose of helping a user to build a place for people to get connected with their business. For new business or startup, the page will be helpful to build community and convert the followers to customers.

And now, the Page feature is available in JomSocial major update - JomSocial 4.7.1. This new version also includes 8 major improvements and bug fixes.

1. Introducing Page feature

User can create their own pages and set it as public, closed page or public but not to show on the list page menu. There are lots of other settings for pages:

JomSocial 4.7.0 with an amazing new feature: Follow, improved filter in the postbox, 8 improvements and 19 bug fixes. This release also comes with new updates for all JomSocial themes for latest features and style support.

1. New feature: Follow

The new feature: Follow allows you to follow/unfollow a user’s stream with one click. In each profile page, you can see a new button: Follow.

Once you follow the user, you can view his stream activities on your wall.

How to Follow/unfollow a user?

You can follow a user by

Hit the Follow button in the user profile pageWhen hover user’s avatar, you can see the Follow button, hit the button to follow the user.

Note: when you add a user as a friend, you will auto follow him, if you want to keep him as a friend but not follow, you can just hit the Unfollow button on his profile page.

What`s Next?

We are working on colorful background status updates that will give a completely new look to status updates. This feature will give full control to admin to select which background image will show on frontend, It also allows to upload own background images.

JomSocial 4.5.9 is ready for download. The new version is released for a new major new feature : Poll. Users now can create poll for community to vote. Each poll has title and options, user can configure multiple choices, expiry date and which permission (who can view and vote). This release update also has improvements and 10 bug fixes. The feature allows you to upload multiple files in most popular formats: zip,txt,pdf,doc,docx,ppt,xls etc in Frontpage, Groups wall, Events wall.How it works on the frontend? We design the feature in such way of ease of usage.
